Today has Gone To Hell

My day has totally and completely tanked. CJ attacked Roxie again, and this time my mother put her hand between them trying to separate them and of course she was bitten. So my mother has declared that CJ is never to be allowed in the house again, and she wants CJ gotten rid of, today.  Needless to say it's not nearly that simple; there aren't many no-kill shelters around here and the ones there are either are full or don't accept owner surrenders. I found exactly one that would take an owner surrender, and they charge a high fee and have a 3 day cooling off period, which my mother isn't willing to wait out. Meanwhile CJ is the first pet who has ever been 'mine' and she's my best friend in this world, and I can't begin to afford to move. It's pretty much looking like I'll have to have her put down. :~(

oh no! There's *got* to be somewhere you can take her or someone to give her to. (I can't take a dog, otherwise I'd offer.) I know the Howard County Animal Shelter takes owner drop-offs. Try calling around in the phone book to different shelters & whatnot.

If you're not able to move out, maybe you could try talking to your mother again later once she's cooled off, explain how much CJ means to you? Maybe she after she's had time to get over the incident, she'll let you keep her?

I tried the 'she means the world to me' argument already, and she got even more upset because 'you love your dog more than me'. So that tack probably isn't going to work. I'm going to try to get the Humane Society of Harford County to take her, but they have the wait period.

No ballgame tonight now, but I don't know what I'm going to with either myself or CJ after work. (I took her back to the office for the time being.)
