I guess the favorite band would be the Jayhawks, at least for the moment. First song that springs to mind is 'What Led Me To This Town',  a little piece of melancholy sweetness and harmony.

Art Garfunkel's 'Bright Eyes', from the 'Watership Down' movie. All sappy and sad, but once having seen the movie, I can't say no to the song.
