Last Night's TV (inc SPN)

Pre coffee again:

Life - loved the FBI office. Crews & Tidwell are so on the same page. Although Tidwell is going to absolutely freak out when he finds out what Ted found. Interesting that security woman is helping, although I suspect there's money involved with that. And I would so vote for Charlie if he ran for mayor :)

Bones - wow. The boss has a backstory. Who'da thunk it?

Supernatural - now, see, this is where not being into slash, LARP and other more extreme versions of fandom, and actually being into the characters and the plot are beneficial. I thought the ep was Hi-Larious. I had no problem with the lack of 4th wall or acknowledgment of the fans and some of their...odder...tendencies. Of course I thought Aaron Sorkin's acknowledgment of the fans was pretty funny, too, I still quote that episode - "SO FAR up your ass..."  Conversely, I did find it odd that the archangel would let Lilith escape, that Chuck's prophecies were SO detailed and kept so hidden (what's the point of prophecy if no one ever knows about it?), although it does make sense to not let the Winchesters know what's been predicted for them. I wouldn't have taken Lilith's deal either - I'm sure she would have an out clause or otherwise find a way to break the deal.

Supernatural was hilarious even if you are into slash and LARPing - you just have to be able to laugh at yourself. I don't think I stopped laughing for a good 20 minutes into the episode. I laughed even through the commercials. After reading some of the crazy crap that fans put these people through, both fictionally and at cons, I was overjoyed to see the show poke back a bit.

"I am the Prophet, Chuck!" Tears, I tell you. I was in tears.

Oh god, now I'm laughing again. I needed that episode so badly after the day I had yesterday. Great stuff.

Quite true, the laughing at yourself part! BTW, love your icon. Guess that makes me a Dean girl :)

The part where they had to confront the total fangirl...my roommate was giving me strange looks as I couldn't breathe.

I've been a Trekkie and a gamer since high school - if I haven't learned to laugh at my fellow enthusiasts by now, something's wrong with me :)

The fansplosions that happen when the objects of said obsession are brought into the spotlight are a sight to behold.
