Today's off to quite a start. CJ started demanding I get up around 7am. I tell her to be quiet. 10 minutes later she starts again. I tell her to be quiet. 10 minutes later...it's like having a snooze alarm.

So I get up and discover that most of my neighbors are setting up for a community yard sale. Mom and I have wanted to do the yard sale thing for a while, just not by ourselves, so I was a bit miffed to find out I missed this. Turns out the 'community' yard sale was planned some months ago, but no one was told about it until last night. So I didn't actually miss the memo. Most of what we have is large and/or heavy, and it all needs cleaning, so I wasn't going to drag the stuff out by myself at the last minute. I did get to socialize with my next door neighbors, and I picked up an 'authentic' style Ray Lewis jersey from them for $30. New, it cost them $180. So I finally have a Ravens jersey, for comparatively few bucks.

Meanwhile both dogs are in the house, separated but free to roam different rooms, and barking their fool heads off. I put CJ outside, go to take a shower, and then the dogs really go ballistic. Can't do much about it in the shower. When I got out, I discovered a bunch of men in the back yard hammering and sawing away. Seems Mom hired some of the tree guys to come back and rebuild the deck. She didn't bother telling me. And she's off babysitting her grandsons. They tried knocking on the door (hence the ballistic dogs) then decided to go in the yard and start working in spite of CJ being there. Apparently CJ let them in but wanted to help them work. Now both dogs are back in the house and barking like crazy. No sign of Mom. And I can't get out of the driveway, which figures as I have many errands to run. It'll be a day.

The dog situation is coming to a head :(  My mother did eventually come home to supervise the work, but also offered my dog to one of the workers (he had a present for his grandson in mind.)  The end result of the conversation seems to be that my mother not only wants both dogs gone, she wants no more pets. At all. Ever. And she wants CJ gone, today. The only thing that saved CJ today was that the guy had his wife and the grandson come over to meet CJ...and CJ didn't want to meet them. Not surprising, considering there's four strangers in the yard, they're ripping apart our deck and walking around carrying 2x4s, and I'm crying. She wanted nothing to do with any of them and in fact bit the head guy. Then in a fit of irony, the grandson took a shine to Roxie instead of CJ. They're supposed to tell us tomorrow if they want either dog. But my mother is still adamant she wants all pets out of the house.

And oh yeah - I just paid over $100 to put CJ in a training class. Non-refundable. Yay.
