We received a letter over the weekend from an attorney in Michigan. In his letter, he was quite insistent that Michigan's state laws take precedence over federal laws.

Dude, I learned federal trumps state law in high school. This guy is either the world's dumbest lawyer or trying to pull off the world's biggest bluff.
