No Phones, AGAIN

The fixed phones lasted a whole 10 days. My neighbor just called to say she couldn't get through to our house because of a busy signal, which I have confirmed. Who knows what the DSL is up to. Means I get to unplug and replug all the phone lines again, two of which are really hard to get to. Thrills.

Phew

Turns out my neighbor jumped the gun. My mother was on the phone for some 5 hours today, and whenever someone tried to call, they managed to catch her on it. So the phones are, in fact, OK.

Now we have to see if the same can be said for the electricity. The lights are flickering and the TV has been zapped twice in the last 10 minutes, although it did wait until NCIS was over at least. I suspect ice on the power lines, as we're getting a fair amount of sleet outside right now.
