's No Day Like a Snow Day
Mar. 2nd, 2009 05:51 pmLooking over my flist, I'm wondering if I should even admit that my office was, more or less, closed today. That is, I got up the normal time, shovelled, was generally set to come in when I called in at 9:30, but no one was there. At 11:30 we had one attorney and the office manager, and I was told not to come in, the side roads are bad and besides, I'm the only one calling the office. I feel kinda guilty, as Monday is my big workload day and the first week of the month is garnishment time, my big project each month. I might stay late the next couple nights, or bring the garnishment work home.
On the other hand, I shovelled again (everything I did at 9 was snowed/blown back under) and cleared off both my car and Mom's car, resulting in one really sore lower back; did more laundry (I swear I've been doing laundry all weekend); remade the bedroom with the new sheets and pillows I bought yesterday, and burned (so far) 8 DVDs and about 20 CDs. And CJ got to romp in the snow several times, to her delight. New game: dodge the shovel.
Also settled in to watch things. Finally watched 'Mr Smith Goes to Washington', which I taped in December. Kind of an abrupt ending there - what the heck happened afterwards? Closure, people, we need closure! Intended to watch 'Modern Times', which I taped the same week, only to discover that while it taped, the cable was apparently out at the time. No movie. Nuts. Now marathoning Season 2 of the UK 'Life On Mars' and trying desperately to decipher Mancurian. And discovering, to my huge annoyance, that when I downloaded Leverage, I forgot to download episode 10. Big fail on me.
