Empty Nest

The newest clutch of mourning doves left the nest this morning. So far, they haven't gotten far. They can only fly a couple feet at a time and seem to be having serious directional issues. One came hopping and half-flying close to the fence and CJ thought 'ooh, snack!' so I had to launch Operation Distract Doggie. The fledgling thus survived its first encounter with the canine species. Hopefully they'll both survive the day!

The National Aquarium in Baltimore is opening a new exhibit this weekend of jellyfish. The Sun was kind enough to provide some photos. They're most nifty :)
