Discovered Merlin

DVR'ed it Sunday and watched last night. It was surprisingly rather decent. The (completely wrong) impression I had gotten from second-hand fandom was the show was just about Merlin & Arthur getting it on with each other and there were no other characters, much less a plot. And here it turns out there's a half dozen interesting characters, humor, and Tony Head. Well, better late than never.

RIP Michael Jackson

I was just leaving a store and got into the car, and WTMD is playing 'Beat It'. For a moment I was amused, then - uh oh. They were playing it because they'd just gotten the news.

When Thriller was released, I was 12. For whatever reason, though, I was immune to it. I've always liked 'Beat It', but that's it. Never cared for anything else by Jackson, and I've never owned a copy of Thriller. But video-wise, that was where Jackson was the king. Always watched the video, half the time with the sound off, but watched the video. I wound up pretty sick of MJ even without listening to the album, but for better or worse, he was an inescapable part of life in the early 80's.
