Critters, Critters
Jan. 19th, 2010 01:31 pmLast night, I'm driving home on the Beltway during rush hour. At one point there's a sizable strip of interstate with no lights and a 12 foot strip of grass between the highway and the sound barrier. And bouncing along that strip, start stop left right where to next?, are four deer. I can't even figure out HOW they got there. And it's not a good place for them. Leaving aside the high probablility of smushed Bambi, they're almost the same color as the asphalt/dead grass/sound barrier and at dusk, with no lights? Rush hour? Highway? I was envisioning 10 car pileups. Yikes. Please, Bambi, somewhere else!
On a less dangerous note, I discovered today that Towson University's campus police have their own K-9 unit. For real. Maybe 15,000 students on a suburban campus and they need/can afford a K-9 unit?
