I don't think the additional drive is the problem, though. It's completely disconnected, the BIOS doesn't see it and the original drive boots up fine until it reaches the point of OS startup. I think it's the OS and the manufacturer thinks it's the OS, but since it was pre-installed I don't have an OS disc to try reinstalling.
