Now what?

Friday was a really insane day. The boss is at consecutive trade shows in Vegas all week, but naturally started deciding what to take and prepping it Friday afternoon. Which meant it was my assignment, which meant lots of sanding, gluing, cutting, cleaning, packing, etc until his display and handouts were all taken care of. The scissors got very thoroughly gooped up with glue, so they were nearly impossible to open or close and I'm trying to work them with my already swollen and arthritic hand. I have bruises all over the hand. Ouchies. Didn't finish until 5:30, which was crazed because...

My brother called at 1 to say he was bringing his old TV to our house at 6. We were supposed to discuss the possibility of him giving us his old TV over the weekend, to include specs & dimensions, what gets moved where, etc but instead - it'll be there at 6. Yikes. And he said he'd be dropping off the nephews for me to babysit while he went to dinner. Knowing I'll never get food with the boys over - and having no lunch - I broke down, went to McDonald's and inhaled it. Yuck. So Mike shows up at 6 - with a neighbor. The boys were otherwise scheduled, it seems. So Mike and the neighbor haul the mini-entertainment stand and the TV into the house while I move the old TV and vacuum the site. Now there's a TV sitting in the computer room we don't know what we're going to do with, and a huge entertainment center in the dining room, dunno what we're doing with that either. Anyhoo, turns out the new TV is a 32" (the size I was looking for) and 1080, which I am just loving; but it's also 165lbs (!), more than two feet deep, and kind of overwhelming the living room. (We were considering 32s, but a flat or wall mounted one.) Mom hates it because of the overall size and doesn't want it. She wants everything back where it was. I can't move anything but the old TV by myself though, and I love the picture and screen size on the new one. At any rate my mother is pitching fits about not having this planned and blaming me even though she knows I didn't expect the TV until April and therefore thought we would have everything sorted out by then. She's also mad at me because the boys weren't there for here to fuss over, which of course isn't my fault either. Eesh. And the new TV has neither a DVD nor VCR, hence my rush search for a DVR. (Using my region-free baby DVD player and an ancient VCR in the meantime.) Meanwhile Mom also was nagging me to dig her treadmill out of the junk in the basement, which I did yesterday at cost of much pain, but now she's upset because it's out and usuable and 'in the way'. I'm getting worried because when my mother gets like this, she starts throwing out things. Like everything. Without checking with me. And I wind up losing large amounts of art supplies, or hundreds of $s of inventory, or memorabilia I still want to keep. Gag.

Anyone want/need an entertainment center?
