Bits & Bobs

Because I still haven't even started to write about Shore Leave yet, some stuff that's not SL related.
Everyone else has to comment on the New Yorker shenanigans, so quite simply - what the Frak were they thinking?!?
Why oh why did Maryland have to change from 5% sales tax to 6%? It was so much easier to do the numbers in my head. And I hate having to pay sales tax to the state when it's a whopping $7. Hardly worth anyone's time...
I dragged myself out to Frederick Monday for a doubleheader. Wound up the same as the previous doubleheader - the first game simply would. Not. End. Didn't even make it to halftime this time, but I had most of the autographs I wanted, including a miraculous pair of signatures from the notoriously tough signer Richie Hebner, and I was hurting. Still wondering what was in the stands behind the Keys' dugout that was driving Myrtle Beach's manager nutty though.
Saw the rheumatologist Monday - in January we agreed to try me not taking arthritis meds and see what happens. She took one look at my hands and put me back on the meds. (I was going to ask her to.) She's very distressed about the condition of my right hand, as am I at this point. It's killing me and half the time it's swollen to a ridiculous amount. Picked up the meds last night, I hope they help.
Also finally made it to the eye doctor for a checkup - last time I wound up with bifocals, this time the reading part needs to be bumped up a step. Not sure when that'll happen, as Mom forgot to renew our AAA membership and I was counting on the discount to buy the glasses.
Mom left Roxie out Sunday night, so she puked all over the living room and then barked at my bedroom door until I got up way too early. CJ has been very unhappy by my relative absence and has taken it out on her crate, which she has figured out how to open, and on the carpet in the computer room, which is now toast. She's also taking it out on me, taking forever to go to bed/sleep and therefore keeping me up late. Then when I do get to bed, I still don't sleep. I've gotten 2 to 5 hours a night the last several days, when I need 9. I'm walloped. Throw in the hands, shoulders, neck and knees and I'm a wreck.
I intended to draw all the members of the Torchwood team; just not THIS WEEK. All but Eve Myles are at Comic-Con next week and darn if I don't know some people who are going and are amenable to at least trying to get my art signed. So Tosh is done, and Owen is in full progress. I also have to do Ianto in the next couple days, then finish, scan, print, etc. all of them and dig out the Captain Jack I did earlier. I surely hope at least one gets signed...
