It's A Small World After All
Aug. 29th, 2009 05:15 pmAfter a semi-surprise overnight visit by my nephews, who we thought were coming over for the evening, not overnight, it was errand-running marathon time. This afternoon, I went to:
the mail store
Office Depot
JoAnn
the library
7-11
McDonalds
Baynesville Electronics
baseball card store
grocery store
Michael's
Baynesville again.
Yup. Busy.
But the weird thing was, along the way I ran into the guy I bought my van from four years ago, my mother ran into someone she worked with 20 years ago, and, as I was about to walk into Baynesville the first time and was thinking to myself, 'I should call Bill and tell him what I saw in the paper', I open the door and there stands Bill. My BOSS, Bill. Who lives on the other side of the county. And yes, I did immediately wish for a million dollars, though it remains to be seen if the magic will work again. Bill had more luck than I did replacing a cable, I had to go back home and bring in this item I needed an accessory for and they almost blew it up trying to find the appropriate hardware, but still, dang this world is shrinking fast.
And oh yeah, I taught the older nephew to play Dominion. He loves it. I woke up this morning and he already had it laid out to play. I have built a monster. Go me!
