Alarm Clock Follies
Sep. 22nd, 2009 09:35 amIt took me almost two hours to get to sleep last night. Then a couple hours later I roll over and cast a glance at the alarm clock in the process, as I often do - and it's flashing midnight. Dammit. the clock has a battery backup but evidently it didn't bother working (and yes, the battery is new, nothing wrong with it.) I get up, put on the glasses, go downstairs, turn on the light, find a clock whose battery did work, get the correct time, back upstairs, turn on the light there, reprogram the clock, reprogram the alarm since that was also erased, and try to go back to sleep. Except now not only am I wide awake, so is CJ, who thinks it's time for breakfast. Finally I get her settled, then myself. And then the alarm goes off. At 2:30, not the 6:30 it was programmed for. Get up, turn on the light, try to find the problem, no luck, try to go back to sleep, but CJ's wide awake again. Finally get her to sleep, finally get me to sleep, but then I wake up every few minutes all night terrified that the alarm didn't go off at 6:30 and I've overslept. I hate my alarm clock. And, ironically, the song on the radio when the alarm did go off, correctly? 'Driving Me Mad'. No kidding.
