So I Go To The Bank...
Nov. 16th, 2009 02:48 pmBecause I have a $100 bill and two checks from Saturday's show, none of which I'm confident of. Best to get them to the bank and find out one way or 'tother quickly. The nearest branch is in a grocery store. There is only one teller open. And the old guy in front of me (who is advertising his religion, if you know what I mean) is trying to get the teller to do something both dubious and way off the beaten track. Which means 10 minutes of griping, groaning, yelling and 'I'm taking my business elsewhere' before he finally admits it's a dubious transaction and agrees not to do it. Then the teller asks him for his drivers license. And we get to do it all over again as he refuses to provide identification because 'my regular bank doesn't ask me for it'. Gotta tell ya, I felt for the teller...but more for my bum foot after standing there almost 20 minutes. Finally got to the window and my transaction may have taken 30 seconds. Including confirmation that the $100 was legit. And then picked up a dozen donuts for the office since I took almost an hour to deposit 3 items at the bank. Brilliant.
