Baby Blue, The Update

Back to work, more than an hour late but it could be worse. The guesstimate on the Mazda? $3,400. Over 20% of its value, for crying out loud. And the service guy says it'll probably wind up higher than that. Meanwhile, they're keeping the baby in their garage, because the door no longer meets the moulding and oh yeah, it's raining. The whole passenger side of the car is drenched.

Waiting to hear back from Junior's Papa. Apparently Papa is still game to pay it out of pocket, but he hasn't called me yet.

We May Be Getting Somewhere

So, I don't hear from Daddy and leave a bunch of messages for Junior. Junior finally calls back - Daddy has refused to pay for the repairs and told Junior to give me the insurance information, which he does. After spending the better part of an hour on the phone with Encompass Insurance (whose telephone reps, Willie & Ray, were both very nice and helpful) Encompass will accept full liability pending their insured's statement. And since I provided the names and phone numbers of two witnesses, even if the insured denies everything, Encompass will check with the witnesses and then accept liability anyway. The body shop should have an OK by tomorrow and I may even get a rental car out of the deal.

Phew.
