'scuse me whilst I vent

OK, so we haven't had phone service at the house since last Wednesday. The soonest Verizon said they could get someone to the house was today - yes, they're sending someone over, between 9 & 5, on Christmas Eve. Spiffy. And we have to pay for it, because they claim the problem isn't with their line, which I find hard to believe.

And Another Thing...

Why do people call offices on Christmas Eve wanting information that they 'absolutely must have today' and then get angry and upset and throw a hissy fit because the person they want to talk to is on vacation? Hello, it's late December. MOST people are on vacation. You're damn lucky someone even answered the phone.
