Not Feeling Optimistic
Nov. 19th, 2009 11:19 amThe show Saturday has me leery. I have to be there for load-in at 6am, which means leaving home by 5:15am just a few hours after I get back from Springsteen. It's a six hour show, most are five. My space is further away from any entrance or loading area than any other space in the entire show. It's also in a hallway at the furthest possible point from the main action (lobby & gym) and the hallways are arranged so that anyone who takes them takes one or the other. Basically, they would have to double back to go through the other hallway. Oh yeah, and the space is 15' x 5'. The tables are 3' wide, which leaves me less than 2' to maneuver behind them. And no room to pull out bins to restock. Throw in sore feet and no voice from Bruce, and this is going to be utterly no fun at all, I can tell.
And no, I won't back out. I can't get my money back, I'm not a quitter, and the only way to get a good space there (gym, etc.) is to already be on their list of vendors, so I have to suffer at least one year.
