Construction Everywhere...

The guys showed up to work on the house half an hour early, so I was nowhere near ready. CJ & I had to rush through our morning routine, then I had to leave for work half an hour early so they could get into the driveway. Despite the early start, I arrived at work...on time. The traffic was horrendous, and I took the back way. I hate to think how the main route was. At the office, Verizon was already there installing a new phone system. Whether home or work, there's people working on stuff. No peace. Yay.

How 'bout dem 'murricans?

Normally, I don't root for the US teams in sports. I don't care for the mentality in the USA that only the Americans count. But in the case of ice hockey, it's the Canadians who make me feel that way. The attitude that if they put together a team of All-Star NHL players they should be given a gold medal without actually playing galls me no end. So the USA's defeat of the Canadians last night amuses me no end. Especially since the US hasn't beaten the Canadians in 50 years (yes, 50) and the team is almost entirely youngsters chosen for the ability to play as a team (shades of 1980...). Of course, given that Switzerland took Canada to the mat earlier in the tournament, I suspect this Canadian team just isn't anywhere near as good as they'd like to think they are.

Oh yeah, and I picked the Swedes before the tournament. Not backing off that pick yet.

I've got news for you, lady. Your father was plenty of things. A narcissist, a tax cheat, an abuser, an arsonist, a murderer and a terrorist. He was emphatically NOT a hero. Deal with it.

Anyone Want a Dog?

After an hour+ drive home, I arrive to find CJ somehow moved her crate six feet across the floor in my room, knocked over the laundry basket, pulled all my clothes into the crate and shredded them >:(  One of the few pairs of jeans that fit and a sweatshirt I've had over 20 years.

Grrrr...
