Family Issues

My elder uncle Jim (Mom's older brother) had a stroke last night. He was in the hospital over the weekend at a friend's insistence, but checked himself out against medical advice Monday. We know very little else at this point, except that after I told Mom 4 times that I'd drive her to Williamsport, she called my brother and said I wouldn't take her there, would he do it? *bangs head against wall* The younger uncle, Rick, circumvented the whole thing by deciding to drive up there for the weekend, stopping to pick up Mom on the way and he'll drop her off on his way back Sunday night. So now she's griping that she has to stay at someone's house instead of a hotel. Have fun, Rick. I was hoping to drive her one way, visit for a bit and then leave her with Rick for a ride back, so I could watch over the dogs, but this plan works, too. It's going to be a long weekend in any event...

Rebooting Old Television

Generally speaking, I disapprove. And the latest in the line of 70's shows getting the reboot treatment is 'The Rockford Files'. But, it was my mother's favorite show, and, more importantly, they just cast Alan Tudyk as the police chief Rockford drives up a wall. Anything with Alan...is a good thing.
