I'm Baffled Too

I've been pondering the pandering and I'm at a loss as to what McCain was thinking when he chose Palin for his VP candidate. (Unless Cindy was out of town and he was free to think with the little head instead of the big one). Uh, Hillary's supporters didn't just support her because she had two X chromosomes; 99% of them preferred her stand on most issues near and dear to them, esp on abortion. Precious few of them will vote for McCain simply because his VP has different anatomy than he does. And I'm sure a fair number of otherwise sure-to-vote hardline Republicans and evangelicals won't vote for a woman under any circumstance. The only other possibility I can think of for why he chose Palin is that he didn't choose her - Big Oil did, and we know where the money's coming from.
Of course, it may all become moot if Alaska's bipartison ethics inquiry finds evidence to impeach her.
