8 Hours and Counting...

Before I'll be at Shore Leave. I'm helping to set up the art show this evening. How, I don't know. My back, neck and shoulders are killing me; my right hand, esp the index finger, is barely functional and excruciatingly painful, and now my knees hurt for no particular reason. Joining the party, I suppose. And I'm tired. I actually gave some consideration to dropping out as a worker and just attending normally, but between the high cost of an at-the-door ticket and the size of the lurch I'd be leaving the art show crew, I'm staying on as a volunteer. Can't imagine I'll be worth much of anything though.

Just a word to the wise. I saw Edward James Olmos at an event recently and wanted him to sign a Blade Runner photo I've got.

As I passed him the photo I said this is of you as Gaff from Blade Runner. He still signed it Edward James Olmos, Adama!!

And Dominic Keating, nothing to do with normal English people. Personally I think he can go very over the top at conventions!!

I drew a portrait of EJO as Adama a few years back and sent it to Dragon*Con with a friend - it came back signed to me, with a note, signed EJO "Adama". Apparently he made my friend wait around so he could show the drawing to his granddaughter :) So, while I don't know what I'll get signed this weekend (probably just a photo, West Wing if perchance there is one) I'm bringing the signed drawing with me!

He played the Judge candidate for the Supreme Bench in West Wing didn't he? As I recall the cop who arrested him was played by Vaughn Armstrong. Vaughn has multiple Trek roles and I've seen him at many events.

That's the one. Met Armstrong a few years back as well, and I've met Martin Sheen, John Spencer, Dule Hill, Stockard Channing, Jimmy Smits and Mark Feuerstein. Helps when they film in your general area :)

I was a bawling wreck the day John died. He was really lovely in person, charmed the heck out of my mother and hauled Sheen out to meet me. I have a cast photo signed by the first four, but Janney, Schiff, Maloney & Whitford never seemed to be in town.
