gonzai | Anyone Seen My Mother?

OK, I take that back, I found her. But for 24 hours or so, I had no idea where she was. The hospital was supposed to transfer her to a rehab facility yesterday, if they could find one with a bed, and thus they weren't sure where she would go or whether she would go Sunday or Monday. But they were supposed to call me when she was moved. And Mom was supposed to call me when she got there. And neither happened. So I called her room last night and this morning and got no answer either time; tried again in the afternoon and got a man. Oops. Headed to the hospital web site, where the only phone number listed for the entire unit was the secretary's. Called it; got a message that they had no office hours on Mondays and I could leave a message and they'd call back Tuesday. Could not find another number for the department at all. Called her surgeon's office, his lovely secretary said oh, the rehab place called this morning for her notes, I have the number here. Called it, darn if the floor nurse for my mother's unit didn't answer and she gave me the direct line to Mom's room. She's in a rehab that's walking distance from the house and was sent there Sunday afternoon. She claims she never thought of calling me. (Eesh.)

Hopefully she'll stay put for a while.
