Some Random Stuff from the Weekend

gonzaiPittsburgh Steelers + Superbowl = Gonzai the Cheesehead. Yep, I'll be a Cheesehead for two weeks. Anyone but the Steelers. Let's go Pack!
The American 'Being Human' - not bad, actually. I was afeared for it and only watched because gonzai55.livejournal.com/214628.html#cutid1 but I found it amusing and easier to follow that the British version. I'll hang in there for the time being, although it could be confusing to watch the American and British versions concurrently.
Watched two movies over the weekend, True Grit (original) and The Day The Earth Stood Still. Earth...oh, how 50's B-movie you are. Conceptually interesting but very slow pacing and of course quite cheesy. I'm spoiled by modern films. As for True Grit, that one didn't scream made in the sixties and was a very solid film. However, while Wayne may have been the star, Kim Darby was the lead. She's in almost every scene, for criminy's sake. Give her credit. And it seemed to me the price paid for justice (at least six men, at least three horses and Matty's health) was far too high. The guy would have been caught sooner or later no matter what and probably with a lower death toll.
