Is it just me or is television suddenly having a horror renaissance?

Being Human (US & UK flavors)
Lost Girl
The River
Vampire Diaries
Supernatural
The Fades
Grimm
The Secret Circle

I don't watch all of these, but still, that's an awful lot of creepy TV.

I considered that one and True Blood, but mostly I'm impressed with how many are airing right now. It's odd.

I just started The River and I really like it. I can see where the conventions will wear thin if they don't start changing things up some, but so far so good.
