Against my wiser judgment, I stayed up for the end of Lost. (I’ll pay for it today in sleepiness.) So many thoughts, so many questions…

It's all behind the cut:

The episode had three different endings, all three of which were aired on GMA this morning and for once in my life I caught the short segment I wanted. Line of the day (and I don’t think it was intentional) came from the male host: “Wow, they really look good dead.” That said, I preferred the ending that aired to the alternatives.

Jeremy Bentham – Yup, real person. I remembered the stories of his ‘attendance’ at meetings of the London University College Council. The full bio is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Bentham
Desmond and Penny – all together now, AWWWW.

Penny was awfully interested in Aaron. Wonder how long it’ll take her and Des to start a family.

How fortunate for the Six that it was Penny who found them. No one else would have agreed to be complicit in the coverup, nor could they have explained Desmond & Frank to anyone else.

Sun’s proposed alliance with Widmore would seem to indicate she holds Ben as the other man responsible for Jin’s death. But Widmore’s at least as culpable as Ben. Sure, Ben ‘pulled the trigger’ (killed Keamy) but Widmore sent the freighter complete with mercenaries and C4, ordered everyone on the island (including Sun and Jin) killed, order the island (with Sun and Jin) blown up, and ordered the destruction of the freighter. He bought the gun and the ammunition, loaded it and handed it to Ben. Also, how would Sun know about Ben & Keamy? She wouldn’t, at least not until Locke came off the island and presumably told her.

Given Sayid’s alliance with Ben, I’m going to suggest that Sayid and Sun are not on speaking terms these days.

I think I liked Miles best with the grenade in his mouth.

Ben is one cold SOB. ‘So what?’

Sawyer’s turning into a genuine hero-type. Has he done anything lately that wasn’t selfless? And boy has he become protective of his fellow Losties.

Questions, questions:

What happened to the group in the raft? They seemed to be too far from the island to have been moved with it. Were they rescued? Drowned? Stranded elsewhere?

How did Locke get off the island? Did he move it? And if so, how the heck are they supposed to get back to it?

Is Charlotte an ‘Other’ or a child from the Dharma Initiave? How was she born on the island, if pregnant women always die? How did she leave in the first place?

Is Michael really dead this time?

Why did Hurley lie to Walt about Michael’s fate? Hurley knows Michael is almost certainly dead, why not give Walt closure and the knowledge that in the end, his father was a hero?

Why is Hurley being followed, to the point of staking out the mental institution?

Why did Sayid spring him? Has he tried to contact/round up the others? Is this because of Locke, or something else?

Why does the island ‘need’ them? And particularly, why a child and a corpse?

Where are Desmond and Frank these days? Have they managed to lay low?

Why was it so important to Faraday that Miles & Charlotte leave with him?
