The Dark Knight, etc
Jul. 20th, 2008 06:09 pmJust got home from watching 'The Dark Knight'. I really picked it - we went to the first show at the Senator, parked 40 feet from the door and no one was there. We hung out in the lobby playing fetch with one of the theatre's dogs, Baby, until it got closer to showtime. Then, remarkably, the place filled up, well over 600 people and probably 700. And everyone watched the film without getting up, talking, or reacting in a spot where they shouldn't. Love the Senator, I do!
Went to Daedalus Books for the first time afterwards, I thought it smelled weird and had little to interest me, other than a DVD of 'The Ballad of Little Jo', which I saw once years ago and it made a heckuva impression on me, so I bought that. Mom went a little crazy in the kid's books. Then to Egyptian Pizza, where Mom discovered the love of lamb schwarma (she'll eat anything lamb, but hadn't had it middle eastern style) and I had a very tasty pesto & shrimp pizza. And then home.
CJ has taken to regularly barking all night and digging at the carpet in the computer room; she's also figured out how to complete take apart her crate. Mom's about had it and is talking about re-homing. I'm adamantly against that, needless to say.
Went shopping yesterday and instead went for a wade. Really. A water main broke next to the shopping center just before I got there. It wasn't bad when I went in, but it was a full-blown flood when I left. A little more water and the car would have been in trouble, not just my shoes. Yikes.
