gonzai: (Bad Day)
Ugh. Spent the whole weekend either shopping for the office and/or Mom's bridge tournament, or cleaning the house for said tournament. Sunday night I found out the tournament is next Tuesday, not today. Gag. Mom also left washcloths in the washtub, so when I ran the washer - the laundry room flooded. We won't get into how the shopping trip went - suffice to say it took at least 3 tries to get any given item on the shopping list. And the perishable items won't live until next Tuesday, so we have to go again this weekend. Meanwhile I'll be eating grapes all day, every day, for the forseeable future.

CJ felt it necessary to wake me at 3am yesterday, so I get to be sleepy on top of sore and achy. But the house is clean, darnit, including the back room which hasn't been this orderly in a few years. Still cluttered, but orderly. Found things I forgot I had, and found I haven't framed my last several pieces of art. Oops. Then today it turned out I had a doctor's appointment, which I'd forgotten to calendar, and then when I went to the appointment, the doctor was 45 minutes late to his office, so I was 45 minutes late to MY office. It's all getting aggravating.

I just had a wild and crazy theory on Dollhouse on [personal profile] sol_se 's LJ, but you can't do cuts on comments, AFAIK. Dollhouse theory )Elsewhere, Damages finale )

Last but not least, Ashes to Ashes returns April 21st! And just in time, we finished season 1 yesterday. Ashes to Ashes, Season 1 comments )
Last thought - we also watched 'Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day' last night. Wonderful movie. Very light and witty and in the end has something to say about life and love. And Lee Pace is gorgeous. Highly recommend.

The DC City Council just voted to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere as valid marriages in the District. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/07/AR2009040702200.html

Meanwhile, Vermont's legislature overrode the governor's veto and legalized gay marriage in their state.

Slowly but surely, the United States are becoming a fairer country to all its people.
