Amazon Annoyance

You know, I can understand it if a supplier stops supplying, or an item otherwise becomes indefinitely unavailable. What I don't understand is how, if you know enough to cancel the order and credit the buyer's account for the item, THAT YOU CAN'T SEND THEM A FREAKIN' E-MAIL SAYING SO. Really, would a 'this item is no longer available, your account has been credited' e-mail really kill them?

Apparently so. Two years in a row they've done it. Last year for my Tom Lehrer box set, yesterday for my brother's Beatles Rock Band Special Edition. Gack.

and Prancer and Vixen. Comet, quite possibly Cupid, Donner and Blitzen may have been there as well but I'm uncertain of that.

Yes, I woke up this morning to a herd of white tailed deer in my yard. I've seen deer just a mile from my house on many an occasion, but never in my neighborhood and certainly not 5+ of them in my back yard, not 50 feet from the house. Unfortunately I let CJ out before I saw them, so no photos, and Mom didn't get to see them. CJ, however, had quite a chase with a half dozen zig-zagging does, and when I brought her in the house, at least 3 of the deer came back. Brazen critters, they are. Wondering how they got to my neighborhood, considering they'd have to cross a 6 lane interstate and a 5 lane main drag to do it. Very brazen critters.

Yes, I'm wishing my dog a Happy Birthday. Even though it may or may not be her birthday (the vet who first saw her guessed at her age, then placed her dob in mid-December. The 15th part is my idea.)

But whatever - CJ is 4!
