Just some thoughts I've had in the last couple of days regarding present television shows. Might be spoilery, but the wild theories spouted by me are strictly speculative, I haven't been spoiler hunting or anything, just letting my devious little imagination run loose.

Watched the season premiere last night, my thoughts as follows:

Spoilers, of course )

Finally finished catching up with NCIS. I have now seen every episode at least once, finishing up today with the JAG episodes that spun off NCIS. And, as usual, I had to nitpick it. Me babbling about timeline issues )There was a wee bit of time left over, so one to the next pile of DVDs - season 2 of Mad Men. Only got through the first episode tonight, but it'll be tough to watch playoff football when I know the DVDs are sitting right there...staring at me...augghh! Mild spoilers for Season 2 Episode 1 )Whaddya mean, I gotta wait?!?

Good news: We were able to meet with a trainer and take Roxie to the vet, both at PetSmart.
Bad news: We were in PetSmart for over 3 hours. Kinda blew the day.

Good news: We may have diagnosed the issue with Roxie & CJ, to wit: an exchange of power is taking place. Roxie was the alpha dog, but CJ is taking over the role.
Bad news: Role switching doesn't usually involve vicious and injurious attacks. We have a long way to go here.

Good news: The Ravens won.
Bad news: I saw only the last six minutes. (See item 1)

Good news: My underdog picks in the NFL did very well today.
Bad news: I need it. I got clocked on college football.

Good news: I didn't sign up for the art fair that would have been literally blown away yesterday.
Bad news: I didn't get a chance to go to said fair today and visit friends or network. (See item 1) Didn't get to visit any of the other 3 fairs that are always held on this date and scout them for future shows either.

Good news: Watched seven episodes worth of Mad Men Season 1 in the last 24 hours. I didn't see it when it aired originally and we no longer get AMC.
Bad news: Still haven't seen the pilot episode. Downloaded it and burned it, but it turned out the (unlabelled) torrent was for an Italian version of the show. Spanish I can fudge, but not Italian. Dammit.

Good news: I remembered to do the laundry.
Bad news: Doesn't mean I remembered to take it out of the dryer.

Emmy Noms

The good, the bad, and the weird...

The Wire finishes its first rate run with a complete Emmy shutout. It loses a Best Drama nod to...Boston Legal. Gack.

Two And A Half Men gets a Best Comedy nod; Pushing Daisies doesn't.

Supernatural and Smallville both get noms, for sound mixing.

Battlestar Galactica gets a pile, mostly for Razor, but also a writing nod for 'Six of One'.

Chi McBride is overlooked for Supporting Actor - Comedy.

Lost hits the comeback trail solidly, but no noms for Terry O'Quinn. (Michael Emerson does get one, and he should win.)

Zeljko Ivanek gets a nomination! About time! (But he'll lose to Emerson.)

It's the attack of basic cable! And I really need to go back and watch Mad Men, I saw an ep here or there but not the whole thing. Saw all of Damages though, glad my boss is nothing like Patty.

Total and complete shutout of Life, Moonlight & Journeyman. Boogers.
