Who would have thought the best thing Person of Interest could add was a dog? And not just because I'm an animal person, Bear is the perfect addition to the show.

Quote of the week, from Bob Costas on Sunday Night Football, after noting the Steelers would be wearing 1933 throwback uniforms: "As if the Depression wasn't bad enough."

Grimm had the world's best cliffhanger ending, ever, last week. (Not a spoiler) Fade to black, "to be continued", and then... "Sorry." Awesome.

Last Resort was cancelled. However, ABC is going to let them wrap up the show's storyline. Why can't all networks do that?

Haven. Lucas Bryant is damn fine. If he gained 10 pounds I'd have to...never mind. Meanwhile,

Boardwalk Empire.

Treme.

gonzai: (say what?)
Last night I watched the season finales of Treme and Luther. And both of them felt like series finales, not season enders. I hope I'm wrong about that, but I have seen/heard nada on either show.

And still a show short of being caught up, much less getting started on the movies occupying the DVR.

Quick reactions, with spoilers to include a whopper of a spoiler for Game of Thrones )

OK, I somehow survived a weekend of full 8 hour days all week, not sleeping all week, WWDTM Thursday, gaming Friday, dog show/Capitals/Dr Who Saturday and Easter with the nephews. And oh yeah, got the cable system upgraded to include 6 months of free HBO (man, it'll be hard to give it up again) which grants unfettered access to Treme, but means I have to try once more to teach Mom the difference between SD and HD. Now that most of our channels are HD...

Finally finished catching up on 'Treme' last night. I must say, I actually find the myriad cameos annoying. Every person who comes on screen, I'm wondering if it's an actor playing a character or a guest playing themselves and I don't always guess correctly. That part = not fun. But otherwise enjoying the show very much, the characters are deep and well-developed despite have limited time onscreen and the various storylines are neatly woven together. And there's some seriously strong female characters on the show. Good stuff.

Meanwhile, my supervisor is cleaning out her office. 4 years worth of paperwork. Her cube is a disaster area. Resembles Davis' apartment on 'Treme'. I look at it, and remember the political operative's comment to Davis: "You could hide a hooker's body in here." Yup. Certainly could right now.

Finally watched it. It's definitely quite good, but unlike a lot of people, I didn't find it transcendental /best thing ever/etc. I know HBO can air things with nekkid people and a ton of f-bombs, but not really sure why they have to. I didn't understand a lot of the dialogue and I'd like to strangle Steve Zahn's character. But the Leo/Alexander storyline is going to be awesome and the Chief storyline could be excellent as well. Should be an enjoyable series.

Treme picked up for second season )

Way to go Simon & Co!

That's 36 hours after the show aired for the first time and before they finished filming the first season. Has any show ever gotten a second season faster than that? (Haven't watched it yet, but it's recorded and waiting for me to get a chance.)
