And still a show short of being caught up, much less getting started on the movies occupying the DVR.

Quick reactions, with spoilers to include a whopper of a spoiler for Game of Thrones )

V gets a second season? Seriously? I didn't think anyone was watching it. I'm good with it, as I'm curious to see where they'll go with it (and I'm not wedded to the 80s version).

Law & Order, original flavor, gone. Wow. Rather amazing that NBC would dump it for 'new shows' when they've proven rather conclusively the last few years that they can't produce a decent new show to save their lives. (They should take a long look at USA and start modeling themselves after that.)

Cold Case & Damages - clearly, both shows don't think they're coming back. The last few Cold Cases and the final Damages were all tying up loose storylines and/or giving characters promising new beginnings.

I have not watched the Supernatural finale. I was comatose at 9 last night so didn't even try. Tonight, honest.

Not even bothering to try to make sense of Ashes to Ashes anymore. Still watching, mind, but not trying to figure it out.

Back to work.

Luther is a new British crime drama that premiered last week, starring Idris Elba (The Office; The Wire) as a time bomb of a detective. Short version: if you like Wallander, you'll like Luther. If you haven't seen Wallander, think Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Goren episodes - except no Eames around to keep a leash on him. Really dark stuff and they almost lost me with one element of the first episode's crime (animal lovers bewarned), but Elba is awesome (playing about 10 years older than he is) and they're definitely taking this in an unusual direction. For Whoniversers, the cast includes Indira Varma (Torchwood) and Paul McGann (Eight). Check it out.

Catching up on shows...

RIP Pushing Daisies.Spoilery thoughts )I will miss this bizarre, silly, warm-hearted slice of wit.

Speaking of wit, I may be the only one who caught this in Criminal Intent. During the show, at about the 9:17 mark in its original airing, you can see the office clock in the police station. The time on it? 9:17. Nice little touch. Mom has concluded that with regard to Goldblum's character, 'she just wants to kiss him'. Extra funny since Jeff Goldblum really did kiss her once ;)

Lastly, In Plain Sight - slightly spoilery )
