Well, it's over. They managed to get most of the cast back together, even James Callis, who I didn't see listed in the credits. And of course the town was saved from the doohickey that nearly exploded it, the Sheriff's Jeep wound up in pieces and Wil Wheaton got nekkid. Everyone lives happily ever after. Awwww!

The power went out again last night. No storms, no crews in the area, we've been fine for 48 hours, and boom, it's out again. No warning whatsoever (the computer is not amused). It came back on sometime during the night, but it was a pretty rude evening. (Oh, and lost Eureka, since there was no power.)

Not that I watch SNL or actually care about the stuff, but I finally found Schweddy Balls today. One pint, hiding in the back of the freezer case at Safeway. As noted, I don't know what it's about, I just know that this ice creams annoy the hell out of just the sort of people who need the hell annoyed out of them. Anything I can do to contribute to the annoyance!

Meanwhile, I'm finally getting to Syfy's Christmas selections. (Haven't gotten to the Showtime selections of the week or Neverland, but we're getting there.) Eureka was FREAKIN' FANTASTIC. Instant vault to the top of the Christmas programming list. Although that means anything Warehouse 13 & Haven can throw at us will be anti-climactic. But seriously? If you haven't seen the Eureka Christmas ep, find it and watch. Most awesome.

RIP Eureka

SyFy is pulling the plug on Eureka, effective the conclusion of Season Five. (Four is airing now; yeah, it's confusing.)

Nuts.

Yesterday was a weird day at work - our California counsel was in town and working in the cube across from me most of the day, so I actually had to do busy work all day. My hands did not like this. Then all the attorneys wanted to go out drinking after work. I didn't. However, I had found out earlier in the week that Mom had once again told Mike & Janine I'd babysit for them without asking me, or even mentioning it until two days beforehand. So I was able to get out of the pub crawling, as I had been, in the words of one attorney, 'nephewed'. We took the little guys to Applebee's, then came home and played Dominion until Clone Wars came on. The boys really like that, apparently.

The boys had us up early this morning, wanting to play more Dominion, then wanting to try 'Killer Bunnies'. But Mike had said they'd come back for the boys 8:30-9, so I didn't want to start another game. They showed up for the kids at 10:30. Then Mike decided to pick a fight with me over next week's crab feast - it's been on Sundays for 10 years, but this year it's on a Saturday and I made the mistake of asking why the change. He went off on me. Now...probably won't bother going. Mike has made it very clear over the past year that he doesn't like me and doesn't want me at his house, so gaming sounds much better to me than a day of abuse.

After they left, we went shopping - I went for shoes & slippers, wound up with several tops of various weights from July to January. Seem to have a lavender thing going. Then grocery shopping, a trip to the gym, catching up on TV (only Haven left) and now watching the Ravens pre-season game. (Just a very nice touchdown scored on 4th down by the Men In Purple. Awesome.) Eureka had another great line - James Callis' character was asked if he was hallucinating, he said yes, I see a tall blonde in a slinky red dress. Nearly put me on the floor LOL.

Tomorrow, back to the usual. I should go to the Keys game, as I haven't gone all year. But I'll probably talk myself out of it again.

Jo: "Your house is getting more action than either of us."

Just watched last night's ep. Highly amused by the myriad references to various films and television, especially the near-identical 'hobbits hiding from the Ringwraith' scene. Andy and Sarah, however, are just a wee bit...wrong.

Is that if you don't turn on the light, you may miss one. I've been living in this house over 23 years, I regularly go downstairs in the middle of the night (the bathroom is on the lower floor) without turning on the lights and I can't recall ever having a problem. So naturally, at 3:30 in the am, I managed to miss one of the steps and fall down the rest. Spiffy. Mostly I'm the sore and achy all over you get from near-disasters, but I also slammed my arm into the end of the bannister and jammed my already bum shoulder so that's REALLY bugging me.

Other things bugging me...I still enjoy 'In Plain Sight', but is it just me or has Marshall almost completely disappeared from the show? And he's what really makes it IMHO. On 'The Closer', I hope this was an anomaly and they don't make Commander Taylor a 'nice guy'. I like him better slightly antagonistic to Brenda. I finally got around to working on crafts and such for EMC and Christmas, but couldn't find all the stencils I was using just a couple weeks ago. (Two hours of frantic searching later: they fell behind the desk.) 'Eureka' starts tonight, but I'm having trouble caring. It's enjoyable enough the first time through, but it doesn't hold my attention or interest once it's over. For the third night in a row, I forgot to do the laundry. Better do it tonight or clean clothes might be a challenge.
